Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)

The Ethereum network participants collectively store and agree upon the state of the global virtual computer known as the Ethereum Virtual Machine. Each participant has the ability to initiate the execution of any code on the EVM, resulting in the alteration of the EVM's state.
